The HERstory team is a group of passionate, like-minded students with the intention of reaching out to our local female community. Through our personal interests lying in gender equality, literature, and service, we have connected with under-resourced Filipina students with hopes of developing their foundational and sexual health literacy. We aim to equip the girls with tools for their personal empowerment and future roles in the workforce.

The program caters to eighth-grade females at Benigno Aquino High School and rotates through cycles of fifteen girls. Each cycle is comprised of ten English sessions, a female empowerment panel, and a sexual health workshop/feminine product distribution.

LESSONS & INTERVIEWS

The English lessons taught to the girls are designed to be engaging, while also catering to the Philippines' K-12 curriculum guide for English. We focus on both verbal and non-verbal communication.
